The iPGA Canada Course Partnership is exactly what it sounds like — a true partnership. You build, own, and operate your Park Golf course at your discretion: your business, your decisions, your community. We stand beside you with the name, the standards, and the support to help you do it right.

Your partnership flexes to fit how you work. Private owners and businesses partner with us directly; municipalities, service clubs, charities and community groups can do the same — or team up with others to build and operate the course, and our team will work hand-in-hand with yours. However your community plants its vision, we’re beside you through every season — helping you grow the course, the business, the players, and the love of Park Golf.

Do I need to be an experienced golfer to play or build a park golf course?

Not at all! Park Golf is designed for everyone — all ages, all abilities, and absolutely no golf experience required. With one club, one ball and simple rules, safety knowledge & etiquette, it is one of the most accessible outdoor sports. Easy to learn, play and enjoy.

The same philosophy applies to building a course. If you, your organization or your community already maintain a large grassed area that is sitting unused, you may already have the space you need to build a park golf course. That maintained green space is not a cost — it is an opportunity waiting to be activated. You can also start small: even a few holes on a long strip of grass can bring park golf to life.

You do not need a background in golf course design or construction to bring park golf to your community. iPGA Canada will be with you every step of the way — we consult with you from the initial concept and course design, to equipment selection and setup, through to opening day and beyond. You will work with a local contractor and your municipality for construction and permits; we help you plan for them.
How much player equipment do I need to purchase and/or supply for my course?
One of the first decisions you’ll make as a course partner is determining the size of your course — and the good news is, there’s no single right answer. You decide based on the space your location has available.

A standard Park Golf Place course has 9 to 18+ holes (a 9-hole course needs about 1.5 acres), but a fully enjoyable Portable · Partial · Semi-Permanent course can be just 1 to 3 holes. Whether you’re building a compact 3 hole layout at a campground, a 6-hole community course at a recreation centre, or a full 9-18+ hole destination experience, iPGA Canada will work with you to design a course that fits your space, your budget, and your guests.

The amount of equipment you’ll need naturally varies with the size of your course — and we’ll guide you through exactly what’s required based on your specific layout. As a practical starting point, a standard 9-hole course typically begins with:

20 adult clubs (16 right-handed & 4 left-handed) • 24 balls • 20 tees

Smaller courses require proportionally less — and we’ll help you determine the right quantities for your specific setup.

Our guiding philosophy is sustainability and accessibility. As an iPGA Canada Course Partner, basic clubs and balls are included with every green fee — making Park Golf more accessible, enjoyable, and welcoming for every player who walks through your gates, regardless of age or experience.

As your players grow in skill and enthusiasm, offering Tier 2 and Tier 3 premium clubs and balls becomes a natural and exciting next step — for them and for your course. Park Golf has a beautiful natural progression — the more people play, the more their interest grows in exploring different clubs for feel and performance. This progression also creates a meaningful new opportunity for your location, one that grows organically alongside your player community.
How many Park Golf courses are there in Canada?

iPGA Canada is growing awareness of park golf across Canada and beyond. We help organizations, businesses and communities build the infrastructure while empowering people to learn the game and have fun. What is the difference between a Park Golf Place course and a Park Golf International course?

Most permanent courses are Park Golf Place courses (9 to 18+ holes), built to NPGA course and equipment standards for recreation and community enjoyment — accessible, welcoming spaces where people of all ages and abilities can discover and fall in love with the sport. Most courses will choose to focus on local or provincial tournaments and events, adding a friendly competitive element to their community.

For those with bigger ambitions, a Park Golf International course (18+ holes) is NPGA certified and has the infrastructure, location, amenities and capacity to attract and host international players and tournaments. These courses are generally located in larger urban areas that can support international travelers and accommodate the demands of large special events.
